Rooted in exploration and built with intention, the Hōkūle‘a Paepae honors the spirit of voyaging and the legacy of the Hōkūle‘a canoe. Inspired by the journeys of the Polynesian voyagers, this sandal brings cultural storytelling to life through thoughtful design. Featuring embroidery inspired by the stitching of traditional sails and a toe badge crafted from actual Hōkūle‘a sailcloth, every step tells a story. A full-grain leather-wrapped midsole is laser-etched with a map of the canoe’s journeys, while non-marking rubber pods on the outsole provide traction wherever you go.
Key Features:
The upper features an embroidery stitch pattern that mirrors the traditional sail stitching of the Hōkūle‘a canoe. Full-grain leather wraps both the midsole and outsole for a rich, elevated finish, while laser-etched artwork on the midsole maps the Hōkūle‘a’s remarkable voyages.
A contoured midsole offers the ideal blend of support and cushion, wrapped in premium leather for a smooth, premium feel against the foot.
Finished with non-marking rubber pods, the outsole offers added traction without compromising the refined, leather-wrapped look.
